Lipids are mostly made up of Carbon and Hydrogen atoms. They also contain some Oxygen atoms. Lipids are formed when glycerol molecules combine with fatty acids(compounds). Each Lipid has a different structure even if the difference is very small. They belong in 3 different categories: fats, oils, and waxes. Lipids can be saturated or unsaturated. Saturated is fatty acids in the state of having the highest number possible of hydrogen atoms. If there is one or more carbon-carbon double bonds in the fatty acid, then it is unsaturated.
